Pet Food Recall: Dingo Dog Chews

As of September 23^rd 2015, the Dingo Chip Twists “Chicken in the Middle” treats have been recalled from the market, because of a possible amantadine contamination. The manufacturer attributed to producing this product is United Pet Group, Inc.

The following packages (which have shipped to California, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington State) have been included in the recall:

6-pack Chicken in the Middle – Dog Chew Treats (BEST BY date: 5/16/2017)
16-pack Chicken in the Middle – Dog Chew Treats (BEST BY dates: 12/27/2015, and 5/16/2017)

Amantadine is an antiviral medication that is permissible for human use, but unapproved for animal consumption. For more information on this recall, see the official recall report by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
